Caffeine Addiction
Caffeine addiction affects many people who are totally unaware of its effects on their lives. They are unaware of their amount of caffeine consumption, sources of caffeine and the effects of having too much. There are a many innocent people who do not even realize that they are potentially harming themselves irreparably.
Caffeine Addiction: What Is Caffeine?
Caffeine addiction is prevalent because there are so many sources of caffeine in today's culinary culture. Caffeine is a highly addictive chemical found naturally in many products, or added by manufacturers to many processed foods. Nature provides caffeine in coffee beans, leaves of the coffee plant, certain leaves and berries, and in tea. Almost all coffees, unless decaffeinated, cola preparations, tea, chocolate and even some medications contain caffeine.
Caffeine Addiction: What Does Caffeine Do?
Caffeine addiction is prevalent because of caffeine's' benefits. Many people depend on the well known benefits of heightened alertness, increased concentration and an ability to alleviate tiredness. However, in addiction to these potential benefits, many negative effects happen as a result of consuming caffeine. Caffeine simulates the central nervous system. It interferes with responses and interpretations traveling to and from the brain. Caffeine raises the production of the stress hormone, thereby causing a sense of being more alert. Caffeine may increase acid production to the amount that can cause a stomach ulcer. It changes the anatomical function of the blood vessels and removes a person's vital calcium supply. The consequences of caffeine's effects are that people are more susceptible to osteoporosis, irregular heart rhythms and serious illness and pain from the gastro-intestinal tract.
Caffeine Addiction: Large Amounts of Caffeine Cause The Following Symptoms
Caffeine addiction causes both milder and more serious problems. Too much caffeine can cause irritability, bad moods, and insomnia all of which cause stress in one's life. Too much caffeine can also be detrimental to one's long term health. It can cause heart palpitations, fine tremors of the hands and can lower ability to concentration.
