Smoking Addiction

Smoking addiction is perhaps one of the most insidious and wide spread addictions in the world. Smoking addiction involves cigarettes, cigars, pipes, and chewing tobacco.

Smoking addiction involves the chemical nicotine found naturally in all tobacco products. When inhaled or ingested, nicotine activates the brain’s nicotinic receptors thus setting off neuroceptors that create a sense of euphoria. After a while the brain creates a dependency on nicotine for this euphoria and with this dependency smoking addiction becomes a reality.

It is very hard to treat smoking addiction. Some try nicotine patches. Others attempt cold turkey and still others try juice fasting or hypnosis. All of these are valid methods to end smoking addiction, yet each one needs to be tailored to the individual smoking addict.
