Blogger’s Block

I have really struggled of late to write something here that was more than drivel about drug busts, celebrity rehab, or same ole same ole AA wisdom (not dissing it, just saying).  So I’ve been perusing the web and my mind for hours for insight into something new or meaningful that relates to recovery. But alas….nothing.  So just as I am about to give up, I find this link from a link from a link (I wondered why Heather Locklear was in the top 10 on Google Trends…busted again or rehab maybe? Neither, seems she’s had some rather successful plastic surgery) – a delightful Separated at Birth post comparing the mugshot of a Colorado Springs woman arrested for stealing hot-dog stand after a closing-time fracas outside the Copperhead Road Bar to that of Heather Locklear’s.

So what does this have to do with recovery.  Nothing really. Except that you just have to keep on trying even if it doesn’t seem to be working.  Something good will come of it. I’ve spent the better part of the day reading about drugs, alcohol, and the people doing them.  But at least I wasn’t.  And while Heather may not see her resemblance to the aforementioned wiener cart thief, I am sure Kayla was flattered.
